*Back in the ward…
Robin was still holding to Tommy’s hand but he too fallen asleep beside Tommy…
Without walking into the ward to wake them out, Kenny and Darryl decided to just sit at the waiting lounge and rest…
It was a rainy day, Darryl and Kenny was sharing an umbrella while walking on a quiet street… They stop at the cross junction waiting the light to turn red… They were chatting along happily and finally the light turn red… Kenny hold on to Darryl’s hand to cross the road…
Suddenly a loud horn was heard, Kenny turn to look and immediately pushes Darryl away… Darryl fall and look back… Kenny was knocked down and flew a distance away… Darryl tried to stand up and run towards Kenny… He runs and runs and runs but no matter how fast he runs… He just could get near Kenny… Darryl was devastated… He saw Kenny body lying in a pool of blood but he just couldn’t get to him…
“Kenny… Kenny… Don’t leave me… Kenny!!!!” He shouted
“I’m here… I’m here….” He heard a voice… He turned and looked nobody was there… But the voice keeps sounding out to him… He feels his body being shaken… Suddenly a bright light shone onto him…
Then he saw Kenny…
Kenny: “Are you ok? What happen?” Darryl hugged Kenny tightly and started crying
Darryl: “I…. I saw that you been crashed by a vehicle… And no matter how I run and run, I just can’t get to you…”
Kenny: “It’s just a dream… I still here with you… Don’t cry…”
Just then Robin sat down beside them…
Robin: “What happen?”
Kenny: “Nothing… He just has a nightmare that I met with an accident… How’s Tommy?”
Robin: “He woke up already so I called the doc to take a look at him…”
Darryl: “Will he be ok?”
Robin: “Don’t know but hopefully he will… I don’t what my life will be without him…”
Kenny: “I’m sure he will be fine…”
Nothing was spoken for the next 30min so but everyone can sense the intensity between the 3 of them… The nervousness, the fear, the worry all clustered into a big confusion…
All just sat there waiting for the latest update from the doctor… The clock ticked slowly and it been more than an hour now, Robin started to get a bit uncomfortable with the wait.. He paced up and down the waiting area…
Finally, he saw the doctor walking out of the ward…All of them rushing toward him but Robin broke into tears after just one sentence from the doctor... Both Kenny and Darryl could not make out what was being spoken but from the agony of Robin, they could roughly guess what the news is about… But Kenny just wanted to be sure so he tried to speak to the doctor while Darryl stays behind to accompany Robin.
Not long after Kenny came back, Darryl looked at him… Kenny shook his head and Darryl got the confirmation on the news… They looked at each other and just stand there for Robin to give him the support…
Kenny: “Robin, you got to be strong… Tommy still needs you…”
Robin: “What can I do now? What can I do now?”
Kenny: “Stay by his side till death does you apart… We cannot change what is going to happen to him but we can change ourselves to make him happy right? Crying here won’t help him as well… I know it easier said than done but you have to try… At least he can leave in peace knowing that you are alright and able to take care of yourself…”
Darryl: “He is right, Robin… I had been through that stage… Nothing means more than being there for him right now and let him know that you will be alright…”
Robin: “How I can be alright without him? He has been my life support for the past 7 years… I live for him and breathe for him… Now he is leaving me for good and never come back… how… how…” Robin just keeps crying…
Kenny: “It hurts me as much as you… Even though I don’t really know him that well but when I talked to him, I can sense it that he really can’t bear to leave you behind yet he knows it is impossible to turn back time… He regrets every moment of doing drug and got himself into this, worst you are infected too. That is why he doesn’t dare to face you and choose to leave… I cannot express his guilt on his behalf, I cannot express how remorseful he is… But then again, I can feel how he feels… The look in his eyes tells me so much more than the words coming out… And I know you are the person that he cared most... Since we arrived here, he has not ask less than don’t know how many time asking us to bring you back to Singapore with us so you will be here alone… He could be holding on now, fighting to stay here as long as he can… But then, you know he is suffering even if he can make it through… Look at his fragile frame, look at his face… We know that he is suffering… And I am sure you know what you can do for him… It going to be tough but I’m sure you know it inside you what you can do for him”
Darryl: “Dear, why don’t we leave Robin and think about it?”
Kenny: “I thinking of that too…”
Darryl: “Robin, why don’t you go in and talk to Tommy…”
Robin nodded and slowly walks into the ward.
Kenny: “Let go the cafeteria for a drink…”
Darryl: “Yup and I think we need to talk as well…”
Kenny: “I know…”
