Darryl took leave today to try out all the receipt in hope that he will be able to make it work else a party without food is really going to freak him up… So he woke up extremely early, even earlier than Kenny who needs to work… By the time, Kenny is up… Breakfast is ready on the dining table and he is in the kitchen working the recipe….
Kenny walked up to Darryl and gives him a hug…
Kenny: “You doing ok, Love?”
Darryl: “Yes… Just need to try out the recipe to ensure I can make it work…”
Kenny: “So you are going to cook a whole turkey today and honey ham today for the 2 of us… How are we going to finish it?”
Darryl: “No, Silly… It will take us months to finish the turkey and ham if I am going to cook it for ourselves… I am just trying on a smaller scale much smaller on the seasoning so in case i may need more of them on actual day…”
Kenny: “OK…”
Darryl: “Go take your breakfast and prepare for work if not you will be late… You can take the car today…”
Kenny: “You are the best… Sometime I just don’t know what I do to deserve you…”
Darryl: “Ya… I’m thinking of that too… What the hell am I thinking to be with you? Hahaha”
Kenny: “Ya ya… Because I am the best option you can have…”
Darryl: “Erm… Let me about think of that… It’s really a very tricky question…”
Kenny: “OK… Fine… I go and shower…”
Darryl: “Enjoy…”
Kenny: “Hateful…”
Darryl: “Hahaha…”
Darryl literally spends the whole day in the kitchen whipping up the menu… At first, Darryl thought that it should quite an easy task for him but damn he was wrong about it… Just the mashed potatoes itself, he has to redo it 3 times so that the potatoes are soft and moist to be mashed… By afternoon, Darryl only finish 2 dishes and he is already exhausted… He was busy preparing the tiramisu when he suddenly thought to himself about Kenny suggestion on the catering but with all the ingredients bought, it just going to be waste if he gives up now. So he just has to persist and make it work though he seriously regretting to make such a big remark…Really regretting big time…
He went to the living room to take a break and clear his thought to re-focus on his task but he is just so tired that he drifted into sleep…
*Ring Ring* His mobile rings…
Darryl: “Hello”
Kenny: “How are you doing, love?”
Darryl: “I’m doing ok…. Just exhausted I guess…”
Kenny: “It must be really tough… How’s is everything?”
Darryl: “Everything is great… I think I managed to get most of the stuff right… am actually preparing the tiramisu and see how it goes…”
Kenny: “I am so proud of you… This party is going to be a blast…”
Darryl: “Erm… Yup… I hope so too…”
Kenny: “OK… I better not disturbed you with your master piece… I looking forward to have my share of tiramisu tonight… Wonder how it is going to be serves to me…”
Darryl: “In a cup…”
Kenny: “So unromantic… Your lover is so working hard at work and he doesn’t even get a little tender love from you when he is home…”
Darryl: “I am working hard too… In fact working very hard…”
Kenny: “Don’t worry… I sure will reward you tonight when I am home”
Darryl: “Sure, I will wait for it…”
Kenny: “It not going to be too long… I’ll be home in like an hour time…” Darryl look at the clock… It’s 530pm…
Darryl: “Ok, I better go finish up and wait for you to come home…”
Kenny: “OK… I will get dinner on my way back…”
Darryl: “OK… See you in a while…”
Kenny: “Love you…”
Darryl: “Love you…”
“OMG!!! I totally wasted 4 hours of time to sleeping… How am I going to do everything by the time he come back for tasting… Shit!” Darryl said out loud after he hang up the phone…
It was total madness during the 1 hour… Darryl rushed through the tiramisu and marinated for the turkey breast and ham... Seasoning were thrown here and then. Utensils were left thrown everywhere… And he decided to skip the soup as he really does not have much time left… It was like running for his life… He never realized that he can cook everything up so fast and quick… He could not bother with presentation of the dishes but just wanted to get it over with so that Kenny will at least have a taste…That what he is trying to achieve now… Finally the marathon is over… Cooking is finally complete and the kitchen is in a mess… Really messy kind of mess…
“Finally, I get it all done… What a relief! Now only left the turkey and ham to be ready when he is back”
He try to clean up the kitchen while waiting for Kenny to come back… And within like 10 minutes, Kenny walked through the door…
Kenny: “How is my housewife doing today? Did he get all lazy and sleep all day?”
Darryl: “Of course not!!!... I was very busy…” Darryl answered without looking at him
Kenny: “So shall I start the tasting process now?”
Darryl: “No… go get shower first… because I am reheating the turkey breast and honey ham for you…”
Kenny: “How sweet of you... OK… I go and shower first then…”
Darryl: “Yes… Go…”
Kenny head into the shower and Darryl was really panicky of the food because he is unsure how long it take to have the turkey breast and ham to be cooked… But he is relief he manage to delay some time as Kenny usually took long to shower… So Darryl would have at least 20 minutes to get everything cooked…
Kenny: “Love, I am ready for the tasting now…”
Darryl: “What!!! Aren’t you supposed to be in the shower?”
Kenny:”I reckon that you will need help with the mess you created so I just freshen myself up and take the long shower with you later together… So where is the food? I din buy much for dinner so I hope you cooks enough for both of us…”
Darryl: “Erm…”
Kenny: “Anything wrong?”
Darryl: “Nothing… Just worried it might taste real bad…”
Kenny: “I have faith in you…”
Darryl: “But I don’t have after a long day…”
Kenny: “Come on… Just bring it out and we will have the verdict soon…”
Darryl: “Erm… You sure?”
Kenny: “Yes… If you don’t bring out, I will come in anyway… And you know I will…”
Darryl: “OK…”
Darryl took the turkey breast and ham out of the oven and placed it in the plate together with the mashed potatoes and salad… He walked out of the kitchen with the plate and a bowl of soup… He placed it in front of Kenny…
Kenny took a look at it and turns his head and look at Darryl…
