Darryl: “I was not suppose to know it until tomorrow when I am back to the office but my boss was kind of excited of that he call me to inform me…”
Kenny: “You got promotion?”
Darryl: “Not exactly… But something more interesting…”
Kenny: “Then what is it?”
Darryl: “I will be attached to the UK head office for 3 months and then when I’m back, I will be heading a brand new department… How cool is that???”
Kenny: “So you mean you are going to go to UK for 3 months?”
Darryl: “YES!!!!”
Kenny: “And you are happy about it?”
Darryl: “Of course I am…”
Kenny: “OK then I am happy for you…”
Darryl: “But you don’t look or sound like that… Anything wrong…”
Kenny: “Nothing much… Maybe just tired… let’s finish up fast and go to bed…”
Darryl: “OK… You don’t look happy…”
Kenny: “I’m fine… let’s just finished up…”
Darryl: “OK…”
Darryl was extremely excited about the news even the next morning but however; Kenny is a vast difference from him… Darryl knows something is not right but he just don’t can lat his hand on it though he did try to ask Kenny but all he got is just “Nothing” from him… He was really puzzled and yet he doesn’t understand why Kenny has such reaction after hearing the news…
He needs to find out more but who can he ask… During lunch time, he called Kelvin… He told Kelvin about the news…
Kelvin: “Congratulation…. This is exciting news… So when are you leaving?”
Darryl: “Thanks… I am not sure… Just finish discussion with my boss about the new structure and also the layout of my new department...”
Kelvin: “Wow… My department liao wor…”
Darryl: “Hahaha… Don’t tease me la… Shy…”
Kelvin: “I totally so want to believe you…”
Darryl: “How I wish Kenny will give me this kind of response…”
Kelvin: “Why? What’s wrong?”
Darryl: “I told him this news last night and all he said is are you happy? If you are then I am for you too…”
Kelvin: “I c…”
Darryl: “So what is wrong?”
Kelvin: “Firstly, did you tell him about this at all?”
Darryl: “No because I am also not sure whether I will get it…”
Kelvin: “Not even a word?”
Darryl: “Nope… But why can’t he be as happy as you are for me?”
Kelvin: “Well, I’m not your lover to begin with so as a friend of course I am happy for you… But as a boyfriend, I think I will behave like him too…”
Darryl: “Why? This is good news isn’t it?”
Kelvin: “No doubt about it but then again…”
Darryl: “What is it? Can stop saying in pieces…?”
Kelvin: “Then you stop interrupting…”’
Darryl: “OK OK…”
Kelvin: “Well first, you didn’t mention anything to him at all and all of the sudden, you say you are leaving and for 3 months… Though 3 months may not be a long period but for someone who loves you that much, it is… Then secondly, he will not know how to react… I guess he is likely to be confused at this point of time… Happy for you yet sad that you are leaving him here for 3 months… So if you were him, how will you react?”
Darryl: “But this is for my career advancement… I’m sure he will support me totally…”
Kelvin: “Supporting doesn’t mean that he has to be happy that you are leaving him… Maybe it good news to you but to him, I think it more like shock because it just come out from nowhere…”
Darryl: “So what am I going to do…”
Kelvin: “Well make him feel secure about this ba… Though your relationship in everyone eyes are too strong to break but I guess there is still insecurity that is common to everyone…”
Darryl: “I understand now… Maybe he worry that I will not come back anymore or I will not love him the moment I come back…”
Kelvin: “Maybe… You have to figure it out and try to talk to him… You are partly at fault too for not pre-empting him about this”
Darryl: “I know… Thanks for the help…”
Kelvin: “Don’t mention about it… I didn’t do much actually…”
Darryl: “So I see you and your lover at the party…”
Kelvin: “For your information, I am single and enjoying every moment of it… Hahaha”

After they hang up, Darryl realized there is a 2 missed calls on his phone… 1 from Kenny and the other from Robin… He decided to return call to Robin first before Kenny as he needs to figure out what to say to him about the whole situation…
So Darryl proceeds to call Robin… The phone was brief and sharp because Robin said he is boarding the plane heading to Singapore for Christmas… Darryl was ecstatic about it and he gives call Kenny immediately after the call ends
Darryl: “Hello, Mrs Tay…”
Kenny: “Yes, Mr Tay… How your day? Taken lunch?
Darryl: “Not yet… Too busy with phone call…”
Kenny: “I c… So heading out now…”
Darryl: “No la… But tonight we are going to somewhere…”
Kenny: “We are?”
Darryl: “Yes… And you will not believe it…”
Kenny: “I will try unless you tell me…”
Darryl: “Robin is on a flight back now… He just called me…”
Kenny: “Really?!”
Darryl: “Yup, he say he is coming back for Christmas with us and hopefully we will not reject him when he comes…”
Kenny: “Nonsense… we sure will not do that…”
Darryl: “Hahaha… Of course I know… Oh my goodness, I think we need to stock up some more food for the party…”
Kenny: “No need la… the food will be just fine… but I think need to stock up on the drinks though…”
Darryl: “Yup… I pick you up from work later and go to do some shopping before heading for dinner with Robin…”
Kenny: “OK…”
Darryl: “And Mrs Tay….”

Darryl: “I really love you with all my heart and soul… You mean everything to me and I will give up everything just to make you happy… I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about the career advancement earlier… I really am… No one means more than you to me… I love you, Mrs Tay… I love you…”
