They parked the car at Suntec City Carpark and Kenny give a ring to Jay informing that they are going to get some toiletries first before meeting up with them… After the shopping, Kenny and Darryl head to the Japanese Restaurant to meet up with Jay and Kelvin… The waitress directed them to the room…
Kenny: “Sorry to keep you guys waiting”
Jay: “No problem… Anyway, we were just discussing what to eat… Any preference?”
Darryl: “I’m ok with anything… Dear, you go ahead and order… I need to go to the washroom…”
Kelvin: “I go with you…” Kelvin stood up and follows Darryl out…
While they are walking towards the toilet, Kelvin spoke…
Kelvin: “Darryl, I hope what I say to you just now don’t come as a shock to you…”
Darryl: “Don’t worry though I don’t really know why you are doing this but I guess you have your own reason…”
Kelvin: “Frankly I don’t know myself but something just make me stay on…”
Darryl: “I am not sure what is really going on but then again, I think you need to think more for yourself because you should know better where you stand at this moment…”
Kelvin: “I know… But I just can’t help it…”
Darryl: “Well, I can only say think about you first… That is what most important… If you think that this is something you are going to be happy with then embrace it...”
Kelvin: “But how do you think of me?”
Darryl: “I don’t really know you that well so I really cannot comment… Hope you understand... Why worry about how I think about you?”
Kelvin: “I don’t know… Maybe you are the first person that I met that tells me to think for myself…”
Darryl: “Though I am shocked by what you have said but I strongly believe that you know what you are doing…”
Kelvin: “Thanks…”
Darryl: “Don’t mention… OK let me go to the gents first and then need to head back for the dinner… I am kind of hungry… Hahahah”
Kelvin: “Hahaha…”
Kenny and Jay were talking about the wedding when they got back… Dinner procced without any major announcement or awkwardness… It was more of a trash talking session basically until at the end of the dinner..
Kenny: “So Jay, what is the announcement that you say you going to made?”
Jay: “Oh… Hahaha… nothing important… Just wanted you guys to meet someone… And you have already met him… Hahaha”
Kenny: “You mean Kelvin?”
Jay: “Yup… Well you see, I keep mentioning to you about Kelvin but you don’t really have the opportunity to meet him so there… He is my announcement… Hahahah”
Kenny: “OK…” Kenny looking at Darryl puzzled.
Darryl: “What an announcement…”
Jay: “Yup… Hahahah… Kelvin is going to be my best man for the wedding too… Irony right…?”
Kenny: “What so irony about it?”
Jay: “Well because…. Kelvin is more than a close friend to me…”
Kenny: “Well that one I know because you been mentioning a lot about Kelvin and the things you guys do together… So I guess it rightfully that he is your best man for your wedding… What so irony about it?”
Kelvin: “Maybe because I never wanted to be at his wedding…”
Kenny: “Why?”
Kelvin: “Because I never wanted to see him getting married to another person…”
Kenny: “Wait… What do you mean by that?”
Darryl: “Maybe Kelvin is just having this feeling that he is going to lost a friend…”
Kelvin: “No… It because I am going to love the person that I really love so much… and seeing him going into the arms of a woman is killing me…”
Kenny: “What you trying to say?”
Jay: “What he trying to say is? I am going to let him down by marrying Emily…”
Kenny: “Wait I still don’t understand…Do you, Dear?” Darryl nodded…
Jay: “Put it this way, I am two timing Emily with Kelvin…”
Kenny: “What?! You are trying to tell me you are gay!!!!”
Darryl: “Shhhh… Not so loud…”
Kenny: “But how? But you been telling me that Emily is the “One” for you and she is the person you going to marry to… This is getting a little bit too much… You are getting married in less than 3 weeks time and now you realize that you are gay… How is that?”
Jay: “I am confused too…”
Darryl: “Actually Jay, there is nothing to be confused about? Take sometime to think about it and you will know…”
Jay: “I have… But I cannot get the answer…”
Kenny: “Can you answer his confusion?” Kenny looked at Kelvin and he nodded…
Kelvin: “I want him to be happy but then I know I will be sad… I never wanted to be a third party… When I knew him, I never know that he is attached to a girl and already with plans to get married… It came to me as a shock too but I was already in love with him… I don’t know what to do… More than once, I made up my mind to leave him but then I got soft hearted time after time… And I just give in to him again…”
Kenny: “Do you think this is right?” Kenny looking at Jay with disbelief
Jay: “I don’t know…”
Kenny: “Then what you know?”
Jay: “It was meant to be just some fun fling but I really didn’t expect that I am falling in love with him…”
Kenny: “Gosh… How can you say that? What make you even want to have the fling?”
Jay: “You…”
Kenny: “Huh…”
Jay: “After I know about you and Darryl… After I hear about how loving the two of you are… Everything you say about your relationship with Darryl made me wanted to try…”
Kenny: “What are you talking about? Do you still love Emily? Do you still want to marry to Emily?”
Jay: “Yes…”
Kenny: “Then what you mean about me making you to try…”
Jay: “I don’t know… I really don’t know…”
Darryl: “Dear… You need to calm down…” Darryl hold on to Kenny hand trying to calm him down from the agitation...
Kenny: “How to? He is getting married in less than 3 weeks… There is Emily who is now being kept in the dark of the things he had done… And then there is Kelvin who suppose to be just fling and now turn out to be a serious relationship… And I get blamed for causing all these… How to calm down…”
Darryl: “Just relax… Let me talk… OK?”
Kenny: “I don’t how to relax… You go ahead”
Darryl: “Jay, I don’t really know you as well as Kenny but I am saying the same thing I going to say to Kelvin… We cannot tell you what you need to do and what you shouldn’t do… But ask yourself the question on whether you still want to go through the marriage… You will know what to do when you answer the question… I don’t know why you want Kelvin to be at your wedding… And I don’t know the reason on why you asking him to be your best man…”
Jay: “Because I want him to be there to share my happiness with me…”
Darryl: “Have you realize that he is not happy…” Jay looked at Kelvin…
Jay: “Yes…”
Darryl: “You have already know the answer and the future that you really want and who you really want to be with… Inside you, you already know… If that is the case, why still hold on?”
Jay: “But I love him…”
Kelvin: “Do you really love me? If yes, then why still go through the wedding?”
Jay: “Because I love Emily too and I want to share my life with both of you…”
Darryl: “You know it is near impossible… If you really love him then don’t force him to be with you…”
Jay: “Do you feel that I am forcing you?”
Kelvin: “No… But I really don’t think I can continue with you when you are married to Emily… Even though I keep telling myself that I really want to give it a shot… But you never know how much it hurting me everytime I hear you talking about the wedding preparation, the sparkle in your eyes is just too hard to take it… And I know you are really happy and you will stay with Emily… And I truly believe that… Maybe it is really wrong for me to keep contact with you… Maybe we should just end it as a fling… Maybe we shouldn’t have exchange the numbers… Frankly, I am happy being with you for the past months, but I am also too scare to face the future of you being a married man that will have wife and children while I am just a guy standing at a dark corner waiting for you to give me time…”
Jay: “Is this what you really wanted?”
Kelvin: “Maybe not… But it is for the best…”
Jay: “But I really do love you…”
Kelvin: “Me too but I don’t want to be the person who become the problem in your marriage…”
Jay: “Will we still be in contact?”
Kelvin: “Sure but maybe not for now… And I don’t think I can be your best man for your wedding… Sorry…”
Jay: “I know…”
Kelvin: “You have already found your happiness with Emily so enjoy it… You know I have been having all these thought for so long but I don’t have the courage to tell you until Darryl ask me to think for myself and whether this kind of relationship is really what I want… And I realize that as much I love you, I really don’t want to take you away from Emily… Because I know you will be happier with her…”
Jay: “I know…” Kelvin turned to Darryl and Kenny
Kelvin: “Thanks guys…” Both of them nodded in unison…
