Sunday – 1 more day to Robin’s arrival
Darryl was really high spirit today. He was going in and out of the house to help Robin stock up his toiletries and household supplies as well new utensils… He took the keys from the landlord and proceeded to Robin’s new apartment with all the stuff to do some clean up for him… Floors were mopped, toilets were washed and sterile, new bed sheets were put up… Darryl was so busy but yet happy… He totally forgotten about the time until Kenny came over to pick him up for dinner….
Kenny: “So jealous!” Kenny said while driving
Darryl: “Jealous about what?”
Kenny: “Robin lor… I never see you so hardworking while I am around…”
Darryl: “Well, you are different…”
Kenny: “What’s so different?”
Darryl: “Because I know you can take care of yourself and at the same time, take care of me…”
Kenny: “Ya ya… Wait till one day I stop doing so then you will regret…”
Darryl: “I know you wouldn’t do that because you love me…”
Kenny: “Thick skinned…”
Darryl: “But you like… Hahaha… So what’s for dinner?”
Kenny: “Let’s go to Cozy Bay at Kallang…”
Darryl: “OK… You decide… Oh so have you bring your stuff over already today…”
Kenny: “Yup… Nothing much to bring anyway because most of the stuff are already there with you already…”
Darryl: “So I guess we are now officially cohabitating…”
Kenny: “Yup we are but was disappointed because I thought someone will be home to welcome me into his life…”
Darryl: “Erm, you are already in my life for the past 20 years…”
Kenny: “But today is different ma… We are now officially staying together so I thought you will be there…”
Darryl: “I will make it up to you…”
Kenny: “How?”
Darryl: “It will remain as a secret till the right time… Am hungry now… Need to eat first… Hahaha…”
After the dinner at Cozy Bay, they went straight home. But at the void deck, Darryl asked Kenny to park the car as he need to go toilet urgently. So Kenny took over the wheel as Darryl rushed home… So Kenny parked the car and then head up…
“So unromantic one… But what to do since we get together, he never did anything to surprise me at all… Just accept it… He is who he is…” Kenny thought to himself…
When he head up to Darryl house, the house was left ajar... Kenny pushed the door opened and it was pitch dark…

“Dear… You there?” Kenny called out but no response
“Dear…” He called out and still no response… He reached out to switch on the light but the main power supply seems to be cut off… Now he started to worry… He just keeps on calling out to Darryl… But there is just no response… He is scared and on the verge of crying when he hear a voice behind him and singing… He knows immediately that is Darryl… He turns around but it was too dark to see Darryl… But the voice and the singing smooth him down a bit… Then the light came on… Darryl was holding a box in one hand and a bouquet of flower in another…
“Welcome home… Mrs Tay” Darryl said. Kenny looked at Darryl and broke into tears. Darryl walked up to him and passed him the flower and the box. He signaled Kenny to open the box… Kenny put down the flower and opened the box… Inside the box is a piece of paper... Kenny took it out and turned it over… On the paper, it wrote
“Certificate of Commitment
On this day, I, Darryl Tay, take you, Kenny Chew, to be my Lifetime Partner, my constant friend, my faithful partner and my love from this day forward. I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as well as in sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, to support you in your goals, to honour and respect you, to laugh with you and cry with you, and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live.

Darryl: “I know this is something out of the blues and also something not very nicely done up but I was wondering whether I will have the honour to have you sign on this Certificate of Commitment to symbolise our union to start a home together as of today…”
Kenny: “Yes…” Kenny picked up the pen in the box and sign on the certificate. Darryl did likewise…
Darryl: “So how you feeling now?”
Kenny: “Touch… And how did you do it?”
Darryl: “Did you actually look at the date? It was dated back to when we first get attached… I have this prepare long ago just not sure when to give it to you… And for the flower, I am just happy that you didn’t go round searching my things when I am not home else you will sure notice it…”
Kenny: “I never thought of that maybe because I know what you put most of your things or should I say I am the one putting it…”
Darryl: “Hahaha… Good point…”
Kenny: “So tomorrow you will be picking Robin up?”
Darryl: “Yup… Will pick him up from Airport then pick you to have dinner together, ok?”
Kenny: “Yup...”
The next day, Darryl was up early to actually prepare breakfast for Kenny and send him to work… After dropping Kenny at work, Darryl went over to Robin house to do some final touch up of the place before heading home for shower after lunch and get ready to go pick up Robin…
When he reached the airport, he realise that Robin flight was delayed so he called Kenny to inform him about it…
Darryl: “Dear, Robin flight is being delayed so I don’t think I can make it on time to pick you up… You wanna go to the venue to wait for us?”
Kenny: “It ok… Anyway, I am finish soon so maybe I will head over to the airport to join you first…”
Darryl: “Why not I go and pick you up first and head back here together?”
Kenny: “Don’t be silly… You not sure how long the delay is plus it going to be a mad jam if you travel to and fro… You just stay there and I will head over to meet up with you, ok? At least Robin will see if his flight then to make him wait for both of us…”
Darryl: “OK then… You be careful ok…”
Kenny: “I will… Something is not right here since last night…”
Darryl: “What?”
Kenny: “You seem to care a lot more for me now…”
Darryl: “Not fair… I always care for you…”
Kenny: “I know… OK… I got pack up and then head over to you… Give me a ring if Robin touches down”
Darryl: “Love you, Mrs Tay”
Kenny: “Love you too… Mrs Chew… See you in a while…”
More than 45 minutes have gone but still Robin’s flight has not touch down yet… Kenny reached the airport and look for Darryl… They sat at Starbuck and waited for the information on the flight… Finally after 1hour 40min, Robin’s flight touched down Singapore… They headed toward the Arrival Hall and within 15 min, they saw Robin....
Smiles were exchanged…
“Welcome back to Singapore…” Darryl and Kenny said in unison….
